Overview
Calcium chloride is one of the most widely used industrial salts in the world, and one of a small handful of chemicals that meaningfully serve both oilfield and food markets. Five Rivers Materials supplies calcium chloride in all four primary forms — flake, pellet, powder, and liquid — sourced from qualified producers across the Middle East and Asia.
In oilfield operations, calcium chloride is the workhorse density agent for clear-brine completion fluids, achieving densities up to 11.6 lb/gal as a single salt and higher when blended with calcium bromide or zinc bromide. It is also a cement accelerator, drilling-mud additive, and a primary chemical for road and lease maintenance. Food and pharmaceutical applications — cheese coagulation, vegetable canning, electrolyte fortification — require the higher-purity FCC and USP grades, which we supply separately with full regulatory documentation.
